Whistler Creek, originally known as
Creekside, was where Whistler began in the '60s. Here,
around the "Old Gondola Base", a generation of free spirits
fell in love with a mountain.
They knew its secret places. Where the
mountain stashed its powder. Where the trees opened into
glades. Where the sun would be shining.
"Dusty's" was the place they gathered to
entertain each other with tales of mountain exploits.
Sometimes long into the night.
As Whistler developed, attention focused on
the world-class village up the road. Whistler Creek however,
remained untouched. A place apart. Where the true skier and
boarder felt right at home.
True to its history, true to its setting. For
years people waited for the renaissance of this area to
begin. As the new Whistler Creekside takes shape, it is
becoming evident that it was worth the wait. |
